Arrival: Village Kasike is an iPhone game that simulates the daily lives of the Taino people, the people discovered (and later eradicated) by Columbus.

Ostensibly a "village life simulator," great care has been taken to keep historically and cultural accuracy high (Taino music and art has been included and representatives of the Taino community were involved in game design and voice acting). Players learn how the Taino fished and farmed, defended their homes and survived hurricanes.

Gameplay begins with a series of levels that, when completed, open up into sandbox-style gameplay.

Short, fun, and educational! What's not to like?

Messhof is the Charles Bukowski of games, and I say that having just discovered Bukowski for real the other night and then, you know, he was fresh in my mind. I could say he's maybe the William Burroughs of games? But That's Increpare, duh. Messhof isn't quite so misanthropic as Bukowski, but how else can you reflect on Randy Balma, so "drugged up on drugs", or the gag reflex of our meat-gouging protagonist in Pipe Dreamz?
